Ten Toronto hotels open doors for charity photoshoot

Toronto’s beauty isn’t just skin deep…

When Isaiah Haber, a Toronto fashion photographer, heard about the countless Canadian frontline medical professionals dealing with overwhelming stress, he had an idea. He gathered a group of photographers and models, and asked Toronto’s top hotels to participate in a series of sumptuously art-directed fashion shoots simply titled, A Night Out.

The collection of photographs has been compiled into a coffee table book featuring people enjoying nights out at ten of Toronto’s finest hotels. All proceeds from the sale of the book are going to support The Frontline Fund, which works with hospitals across Canada to provide protective equipment and support services to health care staff.

When all was said and done, the project received voluntary contributions from:

  • 34 Models
  • 19 Fashion retailers/designers
  • 10 Photographers
  • 10 Hotels
  • 9 Stylists
  • 8 Videographers
  • 7 Agencies
  • 7 Graphic designers
  • 5 Hair & makeup artists
  • 2 Sponsors
  • 2 Video editors
  • 1 Writer

Lavishly produced, A Night Out, plays on the notion that while the pandemic has made homebodies of us all, everyone could really use a good night out. Through photography, Isaiah and the other participants take the reader on a journey to celebrate ten glamorous evenings at Toronto’s most luxurious hotels. Here is a glimpse at these nights on the town.

THE HAZELTON HOTEL

Buzzworthy

She could barely make it into the lobby through a sea of cameras. Having starred in this year’s most buzzworthy film, she is the centre of attention at TIFF. Though she loves her job, she hasn’t quite grown accustomed to the adulation. A few paces behind, follows her co-star. Unlike her, he doesn’t mind basking in the limelight. In fact, he’s grown to thrive in it.

BISHA HOTEL TORONTO

Funky Friday Night

We’re here for a night at the disco in the ’80s — that moment in history when clothes had bigger personalities than the people wearing them. I’ve made sure my outfit has enough sequins to shine just right when that disco ball hits.

THE KING EDWARD, OMNI HOTELS & RESORTS

A Royal Celebration

Tonight, we live like royals…and I will not be the one who gets in the way of things or who spoils our mission to make this a New Year’s Eve to remember forever. Just look at us. You’d almost think we’re well-behaved and responsible adults.

THE IVY AT VERITY

All About Me Day

Today is all about me. A magical 24 hours of total self-indulgence. Will it be a spa day, a wine day, a day to shop at every store in Yorkville – or all of the above? A break like this has been long overdue, and I intend to take full advantage of this “sick day.”

THE WESTIN HARBOUR CASTLE, TORONTO

Waiting Game

It’s a waiting game. I’ve been sitting here for what feels like a month, but she says she still needs five more minutes to get ready. Finally, she comes out, and I get to be alone with her—just long enough for her best friend to interrupt us. And like that…I am forgotten again.

THE RITZ-CARLTON, TORONTO

Model Citizens

It’s been years since we had a chance to head out and do some damage. Amazing what you can accomplish in a decade. And now that our dues are all paid up, it’s time to make a withdrawal and let loose.

WINDSOR ARMS

Trashing the Stereotype

When rock stars play, magical things happen. And by play, I don’t mean music. I mean like an angry bull plays with the dude with a red cape. All we do when we’re not playing songs is muck around, burning through time and money.

THE WESTLAKE

Same Time Next Year

It’s been a year now that I’ve been carrying this photo in my wallet, trying to find a way back to you. Even as its colours fade and edges fray, I hold on to it. That night that we met, felt like a beginning. One year later, in this same hotel, I sit waiting.

THE DRAKE HOTEL

Best Night Ever!

Prom nights tend to have predictable endings, but I’ve made it my mission that no one who shows up tonight will ever forget this epic evening. Especially me!

HOTEL X

Status Update

Sandro – handsome, self-made, a man who wears his wealth with subtlety and style. Allie – socialite, entrepreneur, champion of philanthropy. His equal and opposite force. Both apply their lust for life and its spoils in a twisted tango at the fabulous Hotel X.
