When it comes to decorating your home, it’s important to not forget your entryway. Stepping into your home should be a pleasant experience and should inspire you and your guests each time they walk through your door.

Here are a few tips on how to create a beautiful vignette for your entryway, that will greet your guests in style:

  1. FLOORING:  A beautiful area rug placed inside the entrance of your door adds colour, texture, and warmth.
  2. ARTWORK:  Add a bold print or painting to create interest to your walls.  This can also be a great introduction to the colour scheme used throughout the rest of your home.
  3. MIRRORS:  Using mirrors can visually open up a narrow entryway as well as reflect light for a brighter space.
  4. MULTIFUNCTIONAL FURNITURE:  Console tables can double as a place to display your favourite accessories such as books and photos, and can provide storage for small items such as keys and mail.
  5. LIGHTING:  In addition to lighting your entryway, introducing a beautiful chandelier will definitely make a grand statement.
  6. SEATING:  Carve out a spot for you and your guests to take off their shoes when entering your home by adding a bench or a chair near your front door.

So, whether you have a grand entryway or just a small corner of the residence, think of your entryway as it’s own little room. It’s the first area of your home your guests will see and it gives them a little taste of what’s to come…so go all out – here’s your chance to really make a statement and reflect your style and creativity!
