Wychwood is a neighbourhood made up of a collection of others, most notably: Wychwood Park, Hillcrest, and Bracondale.
The Basics
The greater area of Wychwood encompasses a few neighbourhoods, but is best understood by its borders: St. Clair Avenue to the north, Dupont (and the train tracks) to the south, and Bathurst to the east and Dovercourt Road to the west.
The Accessibility
This area is fantastic for those who rely on public transit, thanks to the streetcar that runs along St. Clair Avenue. With its own dedicated lane, it turns this Midtown area into a commuter’s paradise for those who need to get to the subway quickly in order to venture downtown.
The Local Homes
This entire area offers a variety of housing options. On the north end, in what is commonly referred to as Hillcrest, you will find turn-of-the-century architecture and pockets of larger detached homes. Further south to Davenport, you’ll find Victorian-style rows of semi-detached homes. Last, but not least, you have the artistic enclave of Wychwood Park – its own private community with an exclusive selection of homes.
The Lifestyle
This area features three unique commercial strips: you have the convenience of Dupont Street and its big-box stores, the bustling district of St. Clair West with boutiques and restaurants, and the on-the-rise charm of Davenport. Each of these areas, along with the iconic Wychwood Barns Park, provide this neighbourhood with its very own quintessential charm.
