It can be difficult to find the ideal location for your special day. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind venue for your wedding in Toronto, you’ll be relieved to discover that there are many options.

In this city, we are fortunate that many wedding venues in Toronto neighbourhoods are fit for any type of couple. From beer enthusiasts to art lovers, you can locate the ideal event setting, gallery, or ballroom for your special day.

Here are some of the many unique wedding venues Toronto has to offer!

Hart House

Since it first opened its doors in 1919, the iconic Hart House in downtown Toronto has been the scene of approximately 100,000 events including: conferences, galas, marriages, plays, banquets, receptions, and meetings. The building is a marvel of architectural design.

One of the most important cultural and ceremonial centres of the University of Toronto, Hart House was created by architect Henry Sproatt, one of the last masters of the Gothic style. High ceilings characterize the lavish interior of the building with arches that are different in each room, floors made of Italian travertine, and fireplaces and nooks that have been uniquely built.

Whether you are organizing a wedding or a business meeting or a trade show, your event coordinator will facilitate the development of a customized plan and ensure that all of your requirements are met.

Hart House is a great site for both in-town and out-of-town visitors because it is very easy for local Toronto public transportation, as well as a number of roads and highways.

The Eglinton Grand

Even if you can no longer view movies at The Eglinton Grand, you can still have your special day celebrated there! In its modern iteration as a venue with a full range of services, the defunct theatre excels as one of Toronto’s great wedding venues.

For the interior, not much has changed from the original days…it is still furnished with art deco pieces, has a plethora of mahogany, and features a substantial amount of marble.

You have the option of hosting your special occasion in either the Grand Ballroom or the Gallery, both of which are one-of-a-kind spaces. As an added bonus, you won’t have to get ready at home or in a hotel room because you’ll have full access to the venue’s bridal suite.

The Fermenting Cellar

The Fermenting Cellar, which is the flagship location for Distillery Events, is both the company’s largest and most spectacular room of their Toronto wedding venues. Heavy timber beams and Kingston limestone walls are still present at the chic industrial location, which dates back to its original construction in 1859.

The Fermenting Cellar provides a one-of-a-kind blank canvas that can be transformed into a dramatic backdrop for a wide variety of event layouts like your luxurious wedding. The space measures 7,500 square feet and features cross timbers that reach a height of 20 feet and open into a 32 foot high lofted roof line.

The Events Experts at The Fermenting Cellar collaborate with their catering team to build meals that are perfectly suited to every occasion. They are able to adapt to any taste in order to assist in the creation of specialized or made-from-scratch menus for up to 250 seated guests.

AGO

Toronto is known for art, whether it be at venues with outdoor art installations or more classic galleries, such as the Art Gallery of Ontario.

The AGO is a one-of-a-kind wedding venue. You won’t have to spend days hunting for banners, fairy lights, or worrying about tips for designing with white décor to impress your guests. The AGO comes “pre-decorated” with astonishing works of art. It offers a variety of rooms, which can seat anywhere from 50 to 350 guests.

The world-famous architect Frank Gehry, who was born in Toronto, is responsible for designing the current AGO. The inviting look and feel of Douglas fir, dramatic sculptural staircases, and an abundance of glass and natural light are all signature elements of his design.

Before serving your guests a bespoke reception meal in the private event venue of your choice, you can exchange vows beneath the famous staircase that Gehry constructed in the historic Walker Court. Have fun celebrating your special occasion, as the AGO’s event team handles all the necessary arrangements.
